More than 25,000 people descended upon Moscone Center in San Francisco this week for VMworld 2015, and Virtual Instruments was at full throttle for it all.
One thing that rang true this year more than ever is the need for optimized performance. We talked to attendees who spanned IT operations, DevOps, and application teams, and each and every one of them told us that they’re always in need of a solution to maximize and optimize the performance of their infrastructure and the investments they’ve made. Gone are the days of over-provisioning for performance and it’s certainly not acceptable to page through Excel tables of performance data to make decisions and find issues.
We packed our booth for presentations about VirtualWisdom4.3 and how our true analytics platform provides answers to the most complex performance questions, across physical, virtual, and cloud environments. A standing ovation was given for the new VM Coordinator analytic for vSphere that analyzes historical resource contention and vMotions and provides the optimal, proactive placement of VMs across your clusters to maximize performance.
Another common theme was how teams are receiving tons of data from the many new element managers, but without the right context, it’s meaningless. We showed how VirtualWisdom’s analytics help users make sense of all of their data and see deeper into their infrastructures than ever before.
For the show, Virtual Instruments lapped the competition. We provided the VI Performance Lounge where you could relax and recharge with massage chairs, snacks, energy drinks, and a head-to-head racing game. Outside, we treated conference attendees to free pedicab rides as they rushed from their hotel to the Moscone, executive briefing meetings, or lunch. And after hours, we hosted our customer appreciation party to relax and unwind.
And no VI event is complete without a demonstration of what real performance feels like—and we aren’t just talking about our booth demos! We drew nearly 100 lucky winners from our booth visitors for our Grand Prize—a thrilling, hour-long ride across San Francisco Bay on the RocketBoat!
This show and the technology that was featured continues to validate the fact that maximum performance is an absolute requirement, every second of every day. And VirtualWisdom delivers that performance.
